Erica and Justin

Wow…I can’t believe how fast July came and went.  This month has been extraordinary!  I have traveled to the Outerbanks, Philadelphia, New York, and back again photographing gorgeous weddings and wonderful people.  I can definitely say that it has been a delight…but, truthfully, I’m glad to finally be home. I have plenty of blogs to post, and tons of great photos to share with you.  Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, please stay tuned over the next couple of weeks, as it will be updated quite frequently.

On a different note, I could go on and on about how amazing Erica, Justin, and both of their families are, but for time sake, let’s just get down to the good stuff :)

Sarah and Emma Kate

A couple of weeks ago, I had the joy of photographing Sarah and Emma Kate.  As you can see from the pictures…they are too much fun!  I couldn’t believe how outgoing and joyful they were.  From the moment I pulled out my camera, they were all smiles.

Philadelphia- Here I Come!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be in Philadelphia for Whitney and Kenny’s wedding this week!  I have never been to Philadelphia, and I have always wanted to…now I’m here!

My plane arrived around 10:00am this morning.  Whitney, Kenny, and I immediately went to the city, where we captured several amazing shots.  I told both Whitney and Kenny that if I only had one block of Philadelphia in Greenville for photography I would be happy…you will see below how amazing it is.
After our shoot, they took me to “Pat’s” for lunch.  I hadn’t heard of it, but apparently everyone else on this planet had…it was DELICIOUS!

So far, my trip is amazing!  I’m so excited to be apart of this special moment with The Winsor’s and Fogle’s.  If the wedding is half as amazing as my first 10 hrs here, then I’m in for a treat.

Coalesce Workshop

I just wanted to give a quick “shout-out” (that was soooooo 1999) to Julie Mixon and the workshop she is giving next Monday and Tuesday night from 5-9.  It is called “Coalesce”.  Basically she is going to give tips on topics such as toning, saturation, creative color, textures, and borders.  I am a huge fan of Julie’s work, and if you are just getting into, or you’re already an accomplished photographer, I would encourage you to attend. Here’s a link for more information: Coalesce

The Basics:

cost: $150 (only $150!!!  That’s insane!  With the class, you also get her textures and borders disk…wow!)

location: Lenoir Community College

date: July 13 and 14th from 5-9

Also, you will have the opportunity to purchase her “Design Pile” disk containing collages, borders, and textures.  Each disk comes with video tutorials.  Julie makes complex Photoshop topics simple with her tutorials.  Check out a collage I made with one of her templates below.

Honduras…Day 1

First of all, thank you so much for all of the prayers and support for the missions trip I took to Honduras a couple of weeks ago.  So many of you earnestly followed my blog and facebook updates, constantly offering words of encouragement….thank you.

Secondly, I am currently in a season of my life where I am busier than I have ever been before.  I find myself taking more pictures than I can edit, staying up until at least 1:00 a.m. every night to catch up on either editing or administration stuff, and still waking up with that sinking feeling of never being able to swim to the top.  I know that this is just a season…a season I am surely thankful for…but a challenging one at that.  With that said, I want to say thank you to those who have waited patiently for me to return calls and emails, place orders, and of course edit your photos.  I couldn’t ask for a better group of supportive people…thank you.

Outerbanks Fun

Last week I had the joy and honor of photographing Erica Sherrod and Justin Stepps’ wedding at Cape Hatteras.  I’m not quite finished picking out my favorites from their wedding, but I do have a few fun pictures I took on my way back.  The trip to and from the Outerbanks was nothing less than amazing.  I had a wonderful time traveling there by myself.  I felt like I was traveling through a Nicholas Sparks book.  It was so neat.
