Soon to be Mrs. Lane!

Last Saturday I was able to photograph the beautiful, soon-to-be Mrs. Lane.  It was the first Saturday of the month that was actually sunny.  We took the pictures at Yankee Hall Plantation.  It was my first time doing a photo shoot there, and I was a little nervous that the inside was going to be too dark.  Luckily, the lighting was perfect, and Casey did an amazing job!  She was completely relaxed, and ready to do whatever I asked…I loved it!  If I would’ve asked her to hold an awkward position for 5 minutes, she would’ve without complaining a bit.  What can I say…she was AWESOME!  Check out a few of my favorites…

The Hall Family

I first met the Hall’s while working at Greenville OB-GYN a little over a year ago, when they were pregnant with Jamey.  I immediately felt a connection with this wonderful family from the moment I met them.  They are extremely warm and friendly.  So, as you can imagine, I was so happy when they contacted me to photograph their family.  It just so happened that I had an opening in the morning and could fit them in….perfect, I know!

Also, James owns Frames by James on Red Banks.  If you are ever in need of custom framing, prints, or mirrors check them out.

Check out a few shots we captured…

Easy as Pie

Yesterday, I was able to photograph another wonderful family for the Hope for Honduras missions trip special.  Originally, our photo shoot was scheduled last weekend, but due to the rain we had to reschedule.  At first I was really worried that all of my photo shoots would get backed up, because my weekends are booked up until the last half of April (except for a few shots here and there, if you’re interested ;)   Luckily for  me, The Williams Family agreed to meet me in the park on Friday afternoon…even after a lloonngg week of work.

I can’t say enough good things about this family.  They knew exactly when to pose, and exactly when to be natural.  They made the photo shoot easy as pie.  Check out a few of my favorites!

Hope for Honduras- Take 1

At the end of every year, I always reflect on what I’ve accomplished, and set goals for what I want to achieve the next year.  One of the goals that I set for this year, was to go on a photography missions trip.  At first, I really wanted to go with ZAO water to photograph children in Africa and mission workers digging wells to provide fresh, clean water to the villages.  This is still on my heart, but I’m not sure if the time is right for this year.

Then, I wanted to go on a mission trip with my friend, Meredith Andrews, to Haiti.  Meredith has become an accomplished Christian singer, who is linked with Hope-Givers International.  Still, things didn’t seem to line up…not yet, at least.

Well, one day before a photo shoot, I was looking at one of my favorite photographers blog, Lauren Clark.  She is a photographer in Lubbock, Texas.  Out of nowhere, she had a post about a Professional Photographers mission trip to Honduras.  I immediatly emailed to acquire more information about the trip.  At first, I received a response that I was on the waiting list.  Immediately after I read that email, I received another one inviting me to join the team.  I was thrilled to say the least!

It turns out that I am one of twelve professional photographers that will be going on this trip.  We will work with other missions teams to feed and care for those in need, build churches, and photograph the work that is taking place.  The trip is from June 21-27.  I am in need of funds for the actual trip and the equipment needed to get the job done.

To raise money, I have started a special called “Hope for Honduras”.  All of the money collected from the sitting fees and orders will help fund the trip.  The sitting fee will cost $50 for a 45-minute, one location photo shoot.   All of the final images, (around 50-60 images) will be uploaded, and available for purchase through Lightbox.  You will also receive an 8×10 art print (which is a print that is mounted on single-weight matboard- similar to a bridal portrait).

I am beginning to book up quickly, but if you are interested, I will be photo shooting on Thursday and Friday afternoons at 5:00, and Saturdays from 10-5.  Please email me at: ginny@ginnycorbettphotography.com if you would like to discuss available time slots.

Hope for Honduras #1

The Coxe’s are the first to sign up for the Hope for Honduras special.  This family is awesome!  They are fun, charismatic, loving, energetic, and genuinely happy.  I had a wonderful time playing in the park with them.  As you can see from the pictures…little Miss Ashlyn is full of personality.  I loved editing their pictures, because even though several pictures were in the same spot…they were all so very different, simply because of Ashlyn’s facial expressions.  I hope you enjoy!  (Feel free to leave comments…it always makes my day seeing what others have to say about my work.)

The Great Quest

I wanted to share a few pictures I took of some of my best friends, Kelly and Matt.  I missed them so much that I asked them to come back to Greenville (from Burlington) to pay me a visit.  In return, I decided to use them as my models for a great quest.

Our goal was to find new locations that I could use for photography.  Our first stop was a run-down house on the side of the road.  It was rather scary, and I was certain that we were going to crash through the floor at any second, but we captured a few amazing shots.  It was definitely worth it!  Then we ventured to downtown Ayden, where we found an amazing red brick wall, and a great deserted road that reminded me of places only seen out west.  Our last stop was a field in my neighborhood, which had amazing colors and textures from the wheat.

Even though I found a few great locations, I’m still on a constant search for new places.  So, if you ever see a neat location that you think would look good in photographs, please let me know.
