“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

I cannot even begin to describe the longing in my heart. The longing for…
solitude
direction
peace
laughter
vacation
inspiration
friendship
alone time with my thoughts, camera, and bible.
Those are the desires that have been boxed up in my heart for quite a while. There’s simply not enough time in the day, week, or month to set aside “me” time. Even when I try to set aside creative times, I still have my to-do list, facebook, twitter, and other distractions beckoning for my attention. Those are the desires that led me to create For the Love Workshop. Those are the desires that are making me so excited about November 1-5th that I could absolutely BUST!
Here’s the deal…in 2 months I will be in Oregon along with Zach and Jody Gray, Mike Larson, and Jonathan and Melissa Helser. We are going all the way to Oregon to spend a week on a cozy ranch in the Oregon mountains to learn and seek God over our business. This will be the best work-cation you’ve ever been to! There’s something powerful with combining God, a secluded cabin, and amazing photography teachers…it’s life changing. The workshop is all-inclusive and will include classes with the Grays and Mike Larson, and worship led in the mornings and evenings by the Helsers. It also includes a bed in a cozy log cabin and all of your food. On top of that, we will provide the transportation once you are in Oregon!

Do you even know how long I have been waiting for an iPhone? Our contract was up for renewal all the way back in November! We heard rumors that a new iPhone would surface in March…
March came and went….no iPhone 4. Every bit of my rebellious nature was clawing for a new iPhone. After all, all my photog buddies had awesome iPhones, and I was practically embarrassed by my little Motorola Q. I couldn’t access Twitter or Facebook…I couldn’t upload pictures….I felt like I was in the dark ages. It was rough.
Well, I’m happy to announce that we have our new iPhones!!! The best part is that they were FREE. My amazing husband won a sales contest which gave him a $500 gift card. It’s like it was meant to be or something……
If you are a friend of mine on facebook or a Twitter follower…I would like to go ahead and apologize for all of the pictures I have taken! I literally take pictures ALL THE TIME! Shane’s coworker actually busted a joke on me….he said, “tell your woman to stop taking pictures of her cats and edit some photos”. If you know me, you know I love jokes….even at my own expense. Good ol’ Jeff Gaddis has one comin’
So, here’s some of the fun things that I have happened in my life through the eyes of my iPhone 4 over the past two weeks

Above: I shot a wedding in the Outerbanks, I had great customer service at Jersey Mike’s, Allison and I finished decorating my office, The skies were beautiful, I have become even MORE addicted to coffee, and Jazzy still love to sleep

Above: I have had lunch with a lot of fun friends! In order from left to right: Jayme, Sarah, Scott, Lily, and Stephanie. How can you look at those faces and not smile

Above: We had Worshipfest last weekend. Worship is an extension of my heart. I loved every bit of last week…meetings, long practicing, and lots of prayer time at the Boiler Room. The more I dive into 24/7 prayer…the more I realize that this is yet another thing I am created to do!

Above: I have fun friends! Left to right: Halee, Jazzy, Shannon, HB, and TD
Thanks for stopping by!
Ginny

There are many things that I love about this industry, but the thing I love the most is the amount of love and support you get from other photographers and photography companies. In my book…the photography industry FAR surpasses any other industry, and believe me…I have been in a LOT of industries (child care, medical, service, teaching, marketing).
Below, I have listed the sponsors of this amazing workshop. I stand behind each company 100%.
My vision for Renew Workshop is to have a very small group of serious photographers who want to learn how I do things…editing, relating with clients, time management, automating tasks, etc. My goal is for all 5 attendees to leave feeling Renewed. Believe me…I know how it is. Most of you are at the point in the year where you are sinking. A lot of you are looking for a workshop that will inspire you…give you the keys to get to the next level. Some of your businesses are growing faster than you can manage and you need to learn how to automate your workflow so that you can maximize your time. A few of you are frustrated because your business isn’t growing fast enough. You’re in desperate need of advice on pricing, etc. I bet that most of you want one-on-one training on what lenses to use, what settings should you shoot with, etc. That’s what Renew is all about. It’s all about lounging in my living room, talking openly about where YOU are, and how to get you going in the right direction. For an entire 8 hr day, I will be yours. I will show you exactly how I run my workflow, how I shoot, the tools I use to run my business, and how I stay Renewed in the midst of it all.
Date: Aug. 28th
Cost: only $500
Time: 10-6
**only available to those 1 hr. outside of Greenville, NC
This workshop has only 3 seats left. First come, first serve. Click here to register:

ShootQ: Without ShootQ, I would be lost. I’m going to give each attendee a tour of how amazing ShootQ is,and how valuable it is to their business.
GreenTent: I have been working with GreenTent for one month and they have taken my website from the 5th page of Google to the top of the second page (in ONE MONTH!). High Google rankings is such a big deal. I am so thankful that I can trust GreenTent to get me to the top without any work on my part. Can you imagine how many more inquiries you would get if you were on the front page of Google in your town?
Action Runner: Action Runner is new found treasure. My friend, Jim Davis-Hicks created a rockin’ program that basically automates your editing. I’m definitely going to give a walk through of this amazing tool.
Simply Canvas: It’s no secret that having a reliable canvas company is valuable. All of my canvases in my office are printed by Simply Canvas. Their color, quality, and customer service is amazing! I’m excited that Renew is sponsored by such an amazing company.
Uno: My friend, Lauren Clark, is the queen of colorful images that POP! She has been a huge inspiration to me. I can always count on being inspired by her work every time I visit her website. This past year, she created a 1 hr. dvd that shows you how she edits using Totally Rad Actions. I’m pumped that she is giving away a discount to all the attendees.

Have you ever felt “stuck”? Creatively stuck? Personally stuck? Do you feel bound to your computer? Overwhelmed with editing? Inbox overflowing? A To-Do list a mile long? Have you ever felt like your systems were ineffective? Your workflow disorganized? Are you unsure of how to relate to your clients? Bring the best out of them during photo shoots? Do you find yourself focusing on fixing your weaknesses instead of embracing your strengths? Have you ever wanted to be a fly on another photographers wall to see how they shoot, edit, and manage their time?
If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, then you should attend Renew. The first Renew will take place on Saturday, August 28th in my home office in Greenville, NC. Because I am passionate about each attendee leaving renewed, there will only be 5 spots available.
Renew has three areas of focus:
1. Photography- taking better pictures, editing, and growing your business
2. Business- automating your workflow so that you can be free from the computer
3. Personal Growth- since your workflow will be automated, you will have time to focus on your dreams and ambitions.
I will be a complete open book…you can ask me anything. You will see how I run my photography business from my home office, how I interact with clients, how I edit, how I automate my workflow, how I manage my To-Do list, my mindset as to how I market my business, and how I stay renewed.
Here are the specific topics I will cover:
* Camera Settings
* Getting correct exposure using natural light
* Achieving the right White-Balance
* Interacting with Clients
* Setting up an Automated workflow

Recommended Hotels:
* I have been fortunate to have good experiences bidding $50 for a hotel through Priceline. However, if you don’t like taking the risk, the Hilton on Greenville Blvd is a great hotel and only miles from my house.
Where Should I Fly In?
Greenville, NC has a small airport (PGV). Only US Airways flies into it. However, Raleigh (RDU) is a major airport and only approximately 1.5 hrs. away. I have also rented cars through Priceline as well.
This workshop is not available to those who live in a one hour radius of Greenville, NC. (However, Aspiration classes will continue to be available to those in Greenville).
Feel free to email me if you have any questions: ginny@ginnycorbettphotography.com
I cannot even begin to describe how much I enjoyed photographing Liz and Dominic’s Colorado wedding. Going to Colorado was always a dream for Shane and I. We would often chat about how amazing it would be to see the Rocky Mountains. Little did I know that I was going to actually shoot a wedding there. It was seriously a dream come true.
Their wedding was unlike any other. All of the vendors where provided with the neatest package full of overall timelines and micro timelines. (I felt completely stress-free. It didn’t hurt that I had an AWESOME second shooter, JD McCulley, with me). The coolest part was the weather. A couple of days before the wedding there was a terrible snow storm. On the night we arrived (Friday), it was rather cold. Apparently, the weather in Colorado is pretty unpredictable. It could be sunny and in the 70s one day and a blizzard the next. Well, it turns out the weather was on Liz and Dominic’s side. During the actual ceremony it was sunny and around 60 degrees. (A nice break from the Carolina heat!).
Well….enough rambling….let’s get to the good stuff…..

Below… I love how Liz payed attention to the small details. It’s the small details that make for great wedding photography.

Below… Do you see that handsome fella in the middle? That’s my dad! The older I get, the more I look like him..lol

Annelise is a drop dead gorgeous, freshly graduated senior. She made my job EASY! She ROCKED her photo shoot. Check out her moves!

Leave some love in the comment section. Comments make me smile!
It’s no secret…..my family knows how to have a good time! We just got back from our family vacation yesterday, and I couldn’t think of a better way to relive our memories than to make a video. Just think about how much we are going to treasure these fun family videos when we are older!
Without further ado….meet my crazy family….

Contests, for me, are bitter-sweet. The sweet part is that I get to make virtual friends with new followers. They tweet nice things about me, and they leave all these great facebook posts. My love tank is always full during one of my contests. The bitter part is that I wish everyone who participates wins. Oh well….I guess Momma was right when she said that “life’s not fair”.
With all of that said…I am honestly in love with the shirt Screen-It designed for me. It’s the comfiest shirt I own. I wear my shirt so often that I’m sure my friends either think that I 1) Love myself so much that I wear my own swagger……(did I seriously just say “swagger”!) or 2) that I don’t take baths. To ease your minds…neither of those are the case, it’s just that I LOVE comfy clothes that look good on me.
So…for this week only, I am selling my shirts at the same price I purchased them. I have a limited quantity…so first come, first serve.
(By the way, the shirts are unisex. The cotton is pretty thin, so it contours to your figures (or muscles) well.)
If you want to take advantage of this deal, click the button below. I’m on vacation this week, but I will start shipping next week. Thanks again to those who participated. You are AWESOME!
And the winner is……..
